Roamer are a much respected name in Swiss watchmaking and they have been around for a long time. Over the last few years they have undergone a makeover to bring the brand into the modern day. Brand History Roamer were founded by Fritz Meyer in 1888 to create cylinder escapements for the watch industry. The company started with 7 employees but by 1895 they had grown to 60 employees and they started producing complete watches. In 1905 Fritz Meyer entered into a partnership with Johann Stüdeli and they developed the MST movement which gained a reputation for high precision and reliability. Roamer won awards at a number of World Fairs and the company continued to grow, employing 1,200 people by 1940. In the 1950's Roamer introduced a watertight case. The Roamer Anfibio line was launched in the same decade, which gained a worldwide reputation for exceptional quality, durability and reliability - this reputation is still intact today.
