MeisterSinger was founded in 2001 and takes its name from a group of middle-class poets and singers from the 15th and 16th Century. The brand's logo is a fermata, the symbol for rest in musical notation. MeisterSinger is heavily inspired by the first mechanical clocks of the Middle Ages as they only had one hand. During this period of history, people had no need for precise timing, so an idea of the time would suffice. Despite its multifunctional capabilities, the Pangea Day Date is one of the slimmest models in MeisterSinger's collection. With a profile of only 10.5mm, the Pangea Day Date is highly competent and elegant on the wrist. Its sophisticated and novel open ring day and date design earned the Pangea Day Date collection the Red Dot Award, the German Design Award and the Good Design Award.

• The defining characteristics of this collection are the date and weekday chapter rings that encircle the centre of the dial. 
• These models all feature a domed sapphire crystal to protect the dial. 
• Each watch in this collection has an exhibition case back, allowing the wearer to observe and enjoy the movement that powers the watch. This is made of mineral glass. 
• All of the Pangea watches are water-resistant up to 50 metres (5 bar).

• This model features a sunburst blue dial with one outer ring and two inner rings. 
• The two innermost rings display the date and the day. The current date and date aligns with the gold triangle just below the 12 o'clock position on the dial.
• The blue and gold look is accentuated by small white highlights.
• The dial exhibits gold Arabic numerals and a gold single-hand to contrast with the blue portion of the dial. 
• A stainless steel case frames the dial. The case measures 40mm in diameter and 10.5mm in height. 
• The watch is powered by a Swiss-made Sellita SW220 automatic movement, which has a power reserve of 38 hours. The movement has been modified to accommodate MeisterSinger's single-hand design. 
• This model is finished with a brown leather strap that fastens with a pin buckle.
