The inspiration for the brand was the "Official Swiss Railways Clock." Created in 1944 by Hans Hilfiker, the clock quickly became a standout feature of all railway stations and eventually became a Swiss national icon. In 1986 Mondaine, founded by Erwin Bernheim, created its first timepiece with official license from the Federal Swiss Railways. Since then, Mondaine has strived to preserve this classic, timeless look of the original design, while still aiming to implement contemporary technologies and innovative features to each new collection. • The dial features gold-tone baton indices, gold-tone hour and minute hands, and a red second hand, each with double lines to accentuate the concept of duality. Arabic numerals replace the hour markers at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. 
• A polished gold-tone 316L stainless steel case frames the dial. The case measures 33mm in diameter and 7.5mm in thickness.
