Duckworth Prestex’s origin story spans back almost a century. The Duckworth family business, Prestons, was founded back in 1869 in Bolton. The firm began making pocket watches in the 1920s, which were branded under the name of ‘Prestex’. Despite its success, the Prestex brand was discontinued in the 1960s to prioritise other ventures through Prestons. After 20 years of mourning, Neil Duckworth made the decision to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and revive the Prestex brand. Using experience from his long career in watchmaking, Duckworth launched ‘Duckworth Prestex’ to pay homage to both his family and the former beloved Prestex brand. Reimagining the original designs, Duckworth Prestex seeks to create versatile and high-quality pieces for an affordable price.

Marking a milestone for the brand, the Rivington GMT is Duckworth Prestex's first-ever GMT line. With their charming fumé dials and bold colours, the Rivington GMTs retain the brand's characteristic retro flair whilst boasting better-than-ever functionality.

Core features of the Duckworth Prestex Rivington GMT Collection:

All Rivington GMTs come with the ability to display the time in a second time zone.
For optimal readability, Rivington GMT models are equipped with a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective underside coating.
The indices and hands on the Rivington GMT models are coated with a powerful BGW9 luminescent compound so the watch is legible even in low-light conditions.
Each model is individually numbered on the screw-in case back.

Model Specifications D489-05-C:

Measuring 42mm, the stainless steel case frames an orange waffle-textured fumé dial.
The dial exhibits luminescent Arabic numerals and brushed steel hands. The second hand and the tip of the GMT hand are light blue.
Features on the swatch include a GMT function as well as hours, minutes, and sweep seconds.
There is also a date display at the 3 o'clock position.
Framing the dial is a two-way bezel with a polished ceramic insert.
The screw-down crown of this model showcases a 'D' for Duckworth Prestex.
Securing the watch to the wrist is a brown Horween padded leather strap with white topstitching.
The watch is water-resistant up to 20 bars or 200 metres.
