Created in 1944 by Hans Filfiker, the clock quickly became a standout feature of all railway stations and eventually became a Swiss national icon. In 1986 Mondaine, founded by Erwin Bernheim, created its first timepiece with an official licence from the Federal Swiss Railways. Since then, Mondaine has strived to preserve the classic, timeless look of the original design, whilst still aiming to implement contemporary technologies and innovative features in each new collection.
