Seiko Prospex Speedtimer ‘Glossy Black’ 1972 Mechanical Chronograph SRQ053J1
This mechanical chronograph takes direct inspiration from the Seiko archives of the popular 1970s motor sports influenced chronograph releases. Inspired by the ‘Seiko reserved Panda’ (6138) model from 1972, the dial of this piece aims to depict a chic and elegant sports car.
Under a dual-curved sapphire crystal glass is a glossy black dial, featuring three white sub dials and a date window at 4.5 o’clock. The flow-shaped case design and intricate multi-row bracelet has a super-hard coating for increased scratch-resistance.
Powered by the in-house 8R48 mechanical chronograph calibre, this movement allows accurate measurement of elapsed time by combining a vertical clutch and a column wheel whilst being practical and wearable at 49.5 mm lug to lug with a 42mm diameter.
Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
