Seiko Prospex Speedtimer ‘Panda’ 1972 Chronograph Re-interpretation SRQ047J1
This Prospex piece is a recreation of the ‘Panda’ Chronograph from 1972. The original evolved from the first Speedtimer (6139) in 1969 and is revived again to achieve a modern sports aesthetic.
The latest Panda inherits many design features from its original inspiration: the recessed subdials in gunmetal grey with orange highlights on the second and sub dial hands and ‘flow-shaped’ case with comfortable multi-row bracelet echo the earlier model.
From the Speedtimer collection, this piece has chronograph functionality, allowing for the measurement of elapsed time. The in-house 8R48 mechanical calibre allows for a slim and compact case design. This movement beats at 28,800vph, and has a power reserve of up to 45 hours.
Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
